I’m a fell-runner with an interest in poetry. Originally from Loughborough, I moved to Cumbria in 1990 and now live in Tallentire, near Cockermouth.
My interest in poetry began in 2001. I later attended a course run by the Arvon Foundation at their Moniack Mhor Centre in the Scottish Highlands where my tutors were the Irish poet and playwright, Paula Meehan and the stand-up comic, song-writer and performance poet, John Hegley. I’ve been a member of Brewery Poets, Kendal, and SpeakEasy, Carlisle, often reading at their open mic nights.
In poems that often reflect my own personal journey, I like to explore the human quest for meaning, understanding and fulfilment.
